Technical Loss - showtime73 (div. 9)

Postby joma1108 » Sat Jan 23, 2010 8:35 pm

Hi,

I have spoken to Showtime73 and he has indicated that he does not want to play the league match and thus to request a technical loss.

What is the procedure for this

Thanks

The normal procedure is to get a Technical Loss logged against him. As this will be his 3rd Tech loss he will be removed from the League Tables for February but can now sign up for March as he has re-joined WGTLS.

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

As Mark said, if showtime73 doesn't wish to play this match, he can just post a Technical Loss against himself. Which would, however, disqualify him from the contest.

In any case, it's great to have him back! :good: Welcome back, showtime73! Rest assured that the WGTLS staff is doing everything in their power to ensure a fair operation of the ladders, because I believe it was a new Ladder 9 rule that drove you away from the site earlier this month. A challenge system is being prepared for all ladders which should later replace the new ladder rule that you disliked so much. However, the League Tables tournament is completely unaffiliated to the ladders, and we'd hate to lose you in this tourney just because you had an issue with the ladders.

showtime73 still has 5 days to complete 3 games in his current Division 9 and continue playing in the league normally in February. It would make little sense to get disqualified now, only to begin in March in one of the bottom divisions, such as Division 19 or Division 24. :happycry:

I'm notifying showtime73 of this thread via PM so that he knows he can still continue playing in this contest if he gets the 3 January matches played by day 28.

If not, then on day 29, joma1108 will get a Technical Win in this match. (If other players in Division 9 also wish to receive Tech Wins for their matches with showtime73, they need to request them through a new forum thread as usual. If no one requests anything, then those unplayed matches will be Technical Ties.)

well i have to thank you for the great welcome back and i will finish my table matches, also i'm gonna start ladder 9 matches again as well..just have not done so because there will be some unlucky people who will drop many spots..i'm gonna try to be careful as to how i move back up the ladder so i dont upset any of the many friends i have on here..also the guilds is taking off big time and if your reading this and your not on a team you can join one or even start one..its an awesome format and your missing out if you do not join...ultimately i have to thank lobwedge for making me realize i'm better off to be here,as i have had 41 people join from wgt because of me..didnt seem right for me to not be here...thanks again mark and dave...showtime73

Definitely great news. :clapping: :drinks:

But we have another case like this now... :ermm: One of the finest players on this site, and the player with absolutely the best League Tables record this month, THEMASTER1, left WGTLS earlier today for much the same reason as showtime73 did early this month... He disliked something about the ladders.

I don't even know what THEMASTER1's issue with the ladders was, but the awful thing is that if players get offended because of the ladders and ditch this site, they also desert this tournament, the League Tables, which has nothing to do with the ladders...

If anyone reading this happens to be friendly with THEMASTER1 and would like to invite him back, we would appreciate this. By all means, let him desert the ladders if he's unhappy with them, but why punish this tournament as well? THEMASTER1 is this month's winner of Division 4, in an impressive fashion rarely (if ever!) seen in this tournament, and it would just be terrible to lose a great player like this because of disagreements regarding the ladders.

THEMASTER1 is a great person and a great player whom I know from personal matches with him. I'm stunned and saddened anyone would even hint at dishonourable behaviour on his part.

That being said, I expect nothing but silliness (at best) from most people, doubly so on the Internet, trebly so in chat-rooms. No matter what anyone says, I don't think people's idle talk/slander should be sufficient reason to exit the whole of WGTLS including this tournament, the League Tables.

I happened to notice THEMASTER1's results in League Tables this month. He's won Division 4 this month with scores of 34, 34, 32, 31, 31. I've been playing in this tourney ever since it was launched in August, and I don't think anyone has ever recorded a great month like this, with an astounding average of 32.4 per round. Remember the League Tables tourney is the one I know where you can't dodge any bad round & every round counts. THEMASTER1 is possibly the best league player right now, I'm sure he'd be among the top candidates to move up to Division 2 next month (where I currently am!), and now he's supposed to leave this site because of what someone said in a chatroom?

I sincerely hope this can't be true & that THEMASTER1 will return, at least to participate in the League Tables if nothing else. This tournament needs great players like him. I've already written on his Wall, asking him to return, and I hope others will ask him as well.
Odpusťte, že používam silné termíny, ale chcem byť zrozumiteľný.
Forgive me for using strong terms, but I want to get the message across.
