WGTLS Ryder Cup rules
Welcome to the WGTLS Ryder Cup. If you wish to take part please click *here* and then click on *Sign Up* underneath your chosen side. Please note that this tourney is only open to *Master* tier players. Players can *Withdraw* via the Ryder Cup menu if you change your mind. Signing up does not guarantee you a place in the squad. During the sign up period the Captains from both squads may choose up to 2 Vice-Captains from the players listed for each squad. Once a decision has been reached the chosen captain from each side must send me a Private Message with the names of the Vice-Captains. The Captains & Vice-Captains of both squads can then choose the 12 players who will form the squad. The Captains and Vice-Captains do not have to be part of the squad. The remaining players after the Captains, Vice-Captains and squad are chosen can be used as substitutes. The squad of 12 must entirely consist of *Master* tier players. This will be checked by WGTLS admin before being confirmed. The Captains and Vice-Captains will then be able to choose the pairings for the *Four-Ball* and *It's a Breeze* matches. WGTLS admin will then randomly draw together the pairings for both of these formats plus the singles. As the WGT game cannot be setup in *FourSomes* mode we have replaced it with what we have called *It's a Breeze. Details of this can be found in the Game Formats* menu above. All 12 players must take part in all 3 formats and no player can play more than twice in the *Four-Ball* or *It's a Breeze* formats. Therefore each player could take part in as many as 5 matches, 2 x Four-ball, 2 x It's a Breeze and 1 x Single. All matches are over 18 holes and in *Match Play. There is a WGTLS Ryder Cup* forum available to post any messages with regard to this tournament. The captains can at anytime replace a player for whatever reason right up to the scheduled time of the match, but must post any changes on the *WGTLS Ryder Cup* forum with regard to the replacement and match concerned. Any players subbed out cannot be brought back into the squad at a later date. All players must report to their Captain or Vice-Captains any problems that may arise during the tournament. Any points raised can then be taken up with the opposite Captain and/or WGTLS admin. The WGT game settings used for each format can be found in the *Game Formats* menu above. There will be 8 Four-ball matches, 8 It's a Breeze matches and 12 Singles matches. One point is awarded for a win and a ½ point for a tie. The first side to reach 14½ points is declared the winner unless they are the current holders who will then only require 14 points to win. Timetable : The duration of the *WGTLS Ryder Cup* will be 28 days from the date published in the forum. All matches not completed within the 28 days will be halved. Once the pairings have been decided on by the captains and WGTLS admin have randomly chosen who plays who, the *WGTLS Ryder Cup* forum will contain 3 sub-forums each one pertaining to the 3 game formats. Inside these sub-forums each match will be listed. Every player who is taking part in those matches owes it to themselves to use the posts to try and arrange the matches. This will then show to all players that attempts have been made to get the match played. Any changes to players in a match will be reflected in these posts and on the Matches / Results page. Captains : Please go to the *Captains Only* page to post results. In the event of a halved match captains on *both* sides must post. Once a score has been registered all Captains & Vice-Captains will be informed by email of the result you have recorded. Please remember that the *Matches / Results* page does not automatically update itself. WGTLS admin will update this page when the appropriate emails have been received. When a match is posted by the losing side or in the case of a tie, both sides, an email is sent out to all Captains, Vice-Captains and myself containing the players and result.
